I loved this feel good original book. Garth Stein not only entertained me, but gave me a new found appreciation for my dog. Non animal lovers donít be put off, itís not an animal story. It's about life, love and relationships. The central character for this story is a lovable, devoted dog named Enzo (who is also the narrator). Told from his point of view brings a very interesting perspective about human behavior to this heart felt and genuine story about life and its struggles. Rarely does a book bring me to tears or make me laugh out loud, and this book achieved both. Although I would categorize this as a light read it has a lot of substance and several messages through out which make you ponder some life questions. The characters are believable and somewhat flawed for a realistic view on life. Not only do you fall in love with Enzo but you will be rooting for his owner Denny (somewhat of an underdog, sorry couldn't resist).Back.
