While My Sister Sleeps

Barbara Delinsky’s fans will be delighted with this book; it was a fantastic read on a heartbreaking topic. She draws you into the family and as usual her characters and the relationships between them are real and believable. The controversial topic, the different coping methods people have of dealing with stress and making difficult medical decisions about a close family member will provide lively, if not heated discussions for book clubs. As the fictional family learns and adjusts to the tragic circumstances, I was forced into self evaluation of how I would act under similar circumstances. Although the topic was thought provoking I found that this book lacked the intensity and forward momentum of some of her other books; but still a wonderful story of love, learning and forgiveness. I recommend it.Back.
