Alex Cross s Trial

I was looking for a light fast paced book, so I turned to James Patterson’s ALEX CROSS'S TRIAL. It was a very satisfying read with all the right ingredients to keep the pages turning. I was immediately captivated by the southern flavor and charm of the book. Patterson draws you in with vivid descriptions of the South and typical but fascinating characters, making for an enjoyable read. However, the story unfolds to highlight a dark period in our country’s history which was very violent and brutal. Reports of lynching’s, beatings, and betrayals are scattered throughout the book, showing the struggles for civil rights. Sometimes the situations were a bit unbelievable, but it was very thought- provoking. Although civil rights are a serious issue, the story stays on the lighter side as it revisits the protagonists’ hometown relationships from his past. Patterson provides an excellent read.Back.
