Summer Island

All of Kristin Hannah's novels have left me with an unforgettable story overflowing with lovable and relatable characters. Although Summer Island was no exception, I was disappointed with its lack luster plot. Eagerly diving into a novel of my favorite author, I was sad to find it dull. The first 3/4 of the story was easily skimmed as I simply hoped to finish the book. As the story wrapped up, Hannah's shining writing technique and heartfelt feelings came out. She nailed the family dynamic of dysfunction, yet it almost felt as if it were too late. I finished this novel both feeling content with the ending, yet happy it was finally over. Devout Hannah fans will find it worth while, yet I would suggest other readers to dive into and enjoy one of her other page turners.Back.
