(3.5 stars) This is one of those easy to read books thatís filled to the brim with emotion and life like characters. The primary plot is about Cassie and her strained relationship with her sister Harriett. A family emergency forces Cassie to return to her hometown of Walton Georgia after being away for 15 years. She spent these years in New York City working in the advertising field and building a very successful career, not bothering to keep in touch with most people from her past. So itís not surprising that she is conflicted and confused upon her return. Cassieís journey is one of personal growth and enlightenment as she learns to let go of past hurts and discovers what makes her happy. Both Cassie and her sister are characters you care about and the small town setting is charming. I loved the townspeople and their deep sense of camaraderie and family. They are warm, open and supportive of each other. There is also an engaging mystery to puzzle out. Overall, I liked this book, although I did find the relationship and interactions between Cassie and Sam, an old classmate, a bit school girlish and out of character for a sophisticated career woman. In summary a light but heartwarming book about family, letting go of the past and forging a new future. This book will make you smile and bring tears to your eyes.Back.
