Heading Out To Wonderful
Reviewed by- linda (2012/08/19, 04:49 PM)
This is not your typical love story; itís dark and disturbing. Itís a story of love and redemption that centers on Charlie Beale, a newcomer to a small town in Virginia and his awkwardness as he tries to become part of a community. It takes place in the late 1940s, a time when privacy is scarce, morals are high and day-to-day life is quiet and predictable. Themes of love triangles and forbidden love are nothing new but Goolrick has a special talent for pushing the limits and getting into the minds of his characters. If you enjoyed his first novel, donít miss this one. Also recommend for anyone who enjoys something a little different Ė something thatís dark and brooding, that will provoke thought.Back.
