Hidden Figures

Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly highlights a little-known piece of American history. During the height of the civil rights movement, NASA was in need of human computers for the space program. They hired a group of African American Women who were extraordinary mathematicians. Despite their enormous contribution and service, the treatment they received was deplorable. This book outlines their fascinating journey and remarkable accomplishments. I would recommend it for the true nonfiction lover because it read like a factual account of their life. I found it difficult to connect with the characters, yet I loved the message the story conveyed. Both the book and the movie were excellent and enjoyed them very much! There's a lot to discuss in this book.Back.
