Finding Rebecca
Reviewed by- Andrea (2017/06/17, 06:15 PM)
Historical fiction lovers will devour this love story that takes place during WWII. It tells the story of Christopher who joins the SS in hopes of finding his love, Rebecca. She is a prisoner in Auschwitz. He is in charge of all the money stolen from the Jewish prisoners. As he uses his power to search for Rebecca and help others, the horrors of life in the camp are revealed. At times this story was difficult to read. The author describes the brutality and cruelty imposed on the prisoners. Yet, the underlying message is one of goodness. It was uplifting to read about Christopher's heroic acts in his efforts to find Rebecca. It's a love story at its core, but what makes it more interesting is the historical aspects of WWII. Some points of the book were a little too coincidental, but still an excellent read. This would make an excellent Book Club suggestion.Back.
