In This Grave Hour

Maisie is as delightful as ever in this 13th book of the series. And as usual, Jacqueline Winspear’s writing style makes you feel as if you’ve stepped back in time to another era. Her descriptions of day to day life are realistic and colorful, detailed but without dragging the story down. And maybe I also loved this story because Maisie is always musing to herself, it’s one of my favorite things about her. Another good thing? Maisie finally found her way back home in this story. It was like getting a big hug when all the characters we know and love were back – like Billy and Sandra and Pricilla. Somehow, it felt like coming home for me too. Recommend.Back.
