The Dream Daughter
by Diane Chamberlain

PBR Review Without a doubt, this story gives new meaning to the term "unconditional love" and what a mother is willing to do for her child. I don't want to give away too much, but I will say The Dream Daughter tells the story of Carly; who is recently widowed and pregnant. Sadly, her unborn child has a severe heart defect and needs fetal surgery to survive. But, it's 1970, and the options are limited and very risky. Carly needs a miracle. Her journey to try and save her child is captivating and unique. Recommend. Perfect for book clubs.Back.
Talking Points: This is a story about what a mother will do to save her child and the struggles of knowing the child you are carrying has a severe birth defect. It's a story of faith and determination and the importance of family. It also shows the miraculous advances in medicine.
PBR Reader Comments:
A unique story about the journey of a young widow determined to save her unborn child who needs fetal surgery to survive. Unfortunately, it's the 1970s and the options are risky and limited. An emotional well written tale.
