S<\/span>omething I’ve discovered being a reader is people are always intrigued by the book I’m reading. My reading tastes are widely versatile, but this doesn’t seem to play into it. Most days, as I’m reading either on the way somewhere or waiting for something to happen – someone almost always asks if I like my book.<\/p>\n

I know I probably sound like a broken record, but I love this, and it’s even better when they gush over the book I’m reading – it usually means I have a winner, or maybe it’s a sort of validation. Since I do read a lot, I sometimes wonder if my tastes are getting strange. I’m also surprised how easily I’m drawn into conversations with complete strangers over a book.<\/p>\n

Anyway, back to the reason for this post, since I know you lovely ( and patient) readers are probably looking for some book recommendations. As I have been doing lately, several of my choices are what I like to call light reads – they’re great for travel, beach or pool. Keep scrolling…<\/p>\n\n\n

Mrs. Everything by Jennifer Weiner<\/h2>\n\n\n

One of the biggest reasons I picked this one is because Jennifer Weiner’s books usually hit the mark. I strongly suspect I’m going to enjoy reading about the controversial topics and will for sure love pondering the powerful messages.<\/p>\n

The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren<\/h2>\n\n\n

I’m really trying to dive right into a little romance this season, which is not my usual genre. And, I must say I’m liking the ones I’ve read so far. What I think I’m going to like about this story is the humor. It’s a romantic comedy involving two people who hate each other, stuck on someone else’s honeymoon – I guess that’s where the catchy title comes from.<\/p>\n

Her Daughter’s Mother by Daniela Petrova<\/h2>\n\n\n

No matter the season, you can’t seem to go wrong with a psychological thriller. They are very trendy right now, so there are some excellent choices out there. I thought this one had an edge because in addition to what seems like a page-turning plot – it deals with some of the controversial issues surrounding reproductive rights and egg donors. Thought-provoking is always good.<\/p>\n

The Queen Bee by Dorothea Benton Frank<\/h2>\n\n\n

I have not read this author before but have always wanted to. Southern fiction is also a lot like southern food – hard to replicate and guaranteed to bring hours of simple, uncomplicated enjoyment.<\/p>\n

The Sentence is Death by Anthony Horowitz <\/h2>\n\n\n

Aside from the fact that I loved MAGPIE MURDERS by this author, I was drawn to this book because it promises to be a smart and witty mystery, the kind with a puzzle to solve which is really a perfect light read. Like his previous book, it pays homage to the Golden Age of mystery writers like Agatha Christie and Arthur Conan Doyle. It’s also getting great reviews, so I’m sure it won’t disappoint.<\/p>\n
