The Family Upstairs |
by Lisa Jewell |
Review |
Lisa Jewell is one of my go-to authors. If I'm in a book slump, I can rely on her to deliver an excellent read, and The Family Upstairs was just the page-turner I needed. Using dual timelines, Jewell begins in the present day with 25 yr old Libby inheriting a house from her deceased parents on an upscale street in London. They died from an apparent suicide pact, and 10-month-old Libby was found in the house. But that's just the beginning of this twisty, fast-paced psychological thriller you don't want to put down. How did a baby get left in a crib, and her siblings are nowhere to be found? Where did they go, and what happened in that house? This thrilling tale takes us on a wild ride through the lives of multiple characters, unraveling dark secrets and hidden connections along the way. It's fast-paced, engaging, and kept me guessing. It would be the perfect book to throw in your beach bag or discuss with your Book Club! |
