Book Review by - Andrea
I loved this feel good original book. Garth Stein not only entertained me, but gave me a new found appreciation for my dog. Nonanimal lovers don’t be put off, it’s not an animal story. It's about life, love and relationships. The central character for this story is a lovable, devoted dog named Enzo (who is also the narrator). Told from his point of view brings a very interesting perspective about human behavior to this heartfelt and genuine story about life and its struggles. Rarely does a book bring me to tears or make me laugh out loud, and this book achieved both. Although I would categorize this as a light read it has a lot of substance and several messages throughout which make you ponder some life questions. The characters are believable and somewhat flawed for a realistic view on life. Not only do you fall in love with Enzo but you will be rooting for his owner Denny (somewhat of an underdog, sorry couldn't resist).Back.
