Book Review by - Linda
This story takes place, during WWII. It follows two women, Liv, a photographer, and Jane, a journalist, who are covering events following D Day. Real life women inspired the story; this always takes things up a notch or two. It explores the obstacles and risks female journalists faced during the 1940s and the perseverance needed to succeed. Like disobeying orders and risking arrest to overcome barriers and gender inequality. With total disregard for any regulations or obstacles, these two women pursued their singular purpose of being among the first to report from a liberated Paris. And they stopped at nothing, including going AWOL to achieve this. THE RACE FOR PARIS is very well researched and hits the right note with a lot of women’s right’s issues. A perfect read for historical fiction lovers.Back.
