Maisie is as delightful as ever in this installment, and as usual, Jacqueline Winspear's writing style makes you feel as if you've stepped back in time to another era. Her descriptions of day to day life are realistic; they are colorful and detailed but without dragging the story down. And maybe too because Maisie is always musing to herself, it's one of my favorite things about her. I also loved that Maisie finally found her way back home in this story. It was like getting a big hug when all the characters we grew to know, and love were back - like Billy and Sandra and Pricilla. Somehow, it felt like coming home for me too. Recommend.
