If you're looking for a thriller with real characters and a plot with great pacing, check out Anatomy of an Alibi by Ashley Elston. It centers on this messy plan where two women-Camille, who seems to have it all, and Aubrey, who's still dealing with a haunting past-decide to team up to uncover the truth. I was really drawn to how Elston makes both of them feel so layered; it's not just a "who-done-it," but a story about two women just trying to navigate some really dark secrets. What kept me hooked wasn't just the mystery-it was the tension between them. Even though they come from totally different worlds, you end up really rooting for both of them, which makes it so much more stressful when everything starts falling apart. You'll find yourself questioning their choices, but you also can't help but understand why they're making them. It's a great, fast-paced read that definitely sticks with you. |
