Book Review

(by- Linda )

This book is heartfelt-filled with emotion and characters that will resonate with readers. I particularly enjoyed Rainy, the main character. She's a Book Witch, and it's her job to defend works of fiction from all foes - real or imaginary. She does this by using her magical abilities to leap in and out of stories to correct characters who have strayed from the script or to confront villainous characters intent on causing chaos.

Rainy must follow specific rules, one of which is not to fall in love with a fictional character. However, despite this rule, Rainy became romantically involved with Duke, the main character from her favorite mystery series. As a result, she was forbidden from seeing him again, under the threat of expulsion from her Book Coven.

When her grandfather goes missing and a priceless book is stolen, her determination is tested once again. Duke is a detective known for always solving cases, and he is the only person she trusts to help her. Despite the rules, they team up for a quest through classic literary worlds, such as those of Alice in Wonderland and The Great Gatsby, that any book lover will recognize and appreciate.

This story is emotional and touching, blending real life with a touch of magic. It focuses on feelings and personal growth instead of high fantasy or adventure. Once I started reading, I couldn't stop. It's ideal for readers who liked The Midnight Library or The Book of Doors

Thanks to Ballantine Books for the advance eBook - I really enjoyed getting an early look at this one.
