I loved this book! It's a story you can't stop thinking about after you finish. The story begins in a post-apocalyptic world where few people are left. The world was forever changed by what they call the gelding, rendering most people infertile. 18-year-old Gris, the family, and two dogs live on a remote island where life is about everyday survival. Gris sets out on a dangerous rescue when the beloved family dog is stolen. Challenges and mysteries unravel along the way remind us of the importance of bravery, friendship, and never giving up. It's an incredible journey of determination and an ending I didn't see coming. I listened to this book on audio, and it was excellent! The narration is fantastic and adds extra suspense to the story. It would make an excellent Book Club book. |
