Book Review

(by- Linda )

Cleopatra is more than a character in a book; she is someone you see grow and change. She is smart and skilled at planning, rising to the many challenges she faces as she constantly struggles to cope with a harsh world. The Cleopatra of Hollywood is often shown as someone who uses her charm and manipulation to get what she wants, an image very different from the real Cleopatra. However, behind her strong exterior, she has a quiet vulnerability that makes her relatable. You see this especially when she interacts with Charmion, her maid and trusted friend, and her son, Ceasarian.

In addition to learning about this woman, what makes this story work is its layered relationships. Every connection-whether rooted in love, loyalty, or power-reveals a different side of Cleopatra. Some bring out her humanity, others push her toward ruthlessness. But seeing all the different facets and sides of her is what makes her so human and compelling-you may not always agree with her. Still, you understand exactly how she got there.
