Book Review

(by- Linda )

Carley Fortune's Our Perfect Storm is emotional but light-hearted. Frankie and George have been best friends since childhood. Like most friendships, over the years they've had misunderstandings, hurt each other, and had periods of separation. Yet, they always seem to find their way back to each other.

On the eve of Frankie's wedding, her friendship with George is strained. Still, when an unexpected betrayal disrupts her future, they spend a week together in Tofino, British Columbia, forcing them to confront long-avoided feelings.

What I loved most about this novel was the relationship between Frankie and George; it's heartfelt and filled with real-life complications. The chemistry is undeniable, and is the heart of the story.

This story focuses on characters and combines romance with themes of family and friendship. The pacing is slow in some parts, especially when it looks back at Frankie and George's history together. However, the emotional impact is worth the wait.

For readers who enjoy stories filled with complicated friendships and characters who feel like real people, Our Perfect Storm is a must-read for you. It's also an excellent choice for book clubs that enjoy the easy reading and pacing of Rom-coms.
