This is a moving book with well-drawn characters you'll think about for days. Tricia is a shy and naive young wife who arrives in Saigon with her husband. As the story progresses, we follow Tricia as she navigates life in Saigon as a "helpmate" to her husband. This is a clear sign of the times as she faces new and unexpected social situations and dreams of being the perfect wife. This is a slow-burning story about moral dilemmas that were evident during wartime, and it is sure to provide a lively discussion. |
