The Bodyguard

PBR Review: (by- Linda )

When you pick up a rom-com, you're looking for witty banter and characters that are likable and engaging with at least a little depth and, of course, romance. It doesn't have to be steamy and explicit, but intense chemistry is a must. This book hits all these notes.

The characters in this story are very likable. They have a real connection, and their actions and reactions are believable. But they also have flaws which, as readers, we all love. It makes it easy to think of them as friends or neighbors - real people we meet in our everyday lives.

But of course, this is a love story, and the romance is good but not over the top - no steam, just beautiful endearing chemistry.

Is the story predictable? Yes. And it may be a bit sappy (most rom-coms are), but it's also honest, uplifting, and heartwarming, which is what this genre is all about. I thought it was a light, satisfying read that's perfect for rom-com fans.
