This book is about the famous mystery writer Agatha Christie. She went missing for eleven days in 1940 without explanation. The news services ran the story, and the police sent a search party to try and find her. The public was fascinated by the story. However, when found, she simply said she didn't remember
Beanland takes those days of her unknown whereabouts and creates a fictional account of what may have happened to Christie during her absence. It's told from the perspective of Agatha's husband Archie's mistress Nan. The book delves into Nan's background and what motivates her to have an affair with Archie. There are a lot of surprises in this book, and it kept me guessing until the end. This story is fantastic and would make an excellent Book Club choice giving the readers a lot to discuss.
