Book Review

I was immersed in this story from the moment I started reading until I turned the last page.

Get ready to step back to the late 1700s with this book. Martha is a midwife with a firey spirit who is outspoken, determined, and prepared to clash with the male-dominated society of her time. I loved everything about her (and the book). Inspired by a real-life midwife who dared to defy the odds, this book is replete with fascinating details about the challenges and triumphs of women in medicine during the 18th century.

Ephram, Martha's husband, is also integral to this story. His unwavering support is a source of strength, helping her navigate the era's challenges better. His unique personality also adds a touch of warmth and humor to the narrative.

This complex and moving story is perfect for readers who love historical fiction and appreciate a good emotional journey. Highly recommended.
