I really enjoyed this book right from the beginning. I've read and loved books that Sarah Pekkanen co-authored with Greer Hendricks, so I was not surprised that this one hit the mark. These two authors are auto-buys for me. The House of Glass is tense and twisty, part who-done it and part family drama. There is a young child involved who stops speaking after witnessing her nanny fall from a window to her death. The lingering question is - did Tina (Rose's nanny ) actually fall from the window, or was she pushed? To complicate things, Rose's parents are going through a divorce. Stella is a best-interest attorney whose job is to determine which parent should get custody of Rose. But, she meets resistance, especially as she starts suspecting the Barclays are harboring many secrets. Stella also comes to realize she may be in danger. As the story moves along - everyone becomes a suspect in the nanny's murder, including nine-year-old Rose. If you are a fan of psychological thrillers full of secrets and hidden agendas with well-developed characters and a twisty plot - give this one a try. |
