A book that combines an entertaining love story, family drama, and an inspiring story about a woman's journey to self-discovery. It's a fun read with lovable characters. A rom-com that's a perfect light summer or vacation read. Spoiled rich girl meets down-to-earth boat captain. Book Review

(by- Linda )

Piper, a spoiled rich L.A. Socilite pushes her step-father too far - so he sends her to a small fishing town on the coast of Washington to teach her a lesson. She's on her own, cut off financially - and must run her late father's bar to support herself. Here she meets Brendan, her polar opposite. He's a great guy - but a little rough around the edges; not at all her type. And Piper is definitely not his type. As the story unfolds and their relationship grows, prepare for steamy sex and feisty confrontations.

But this book is not all fluff - Tessa Bailey also shows us the grief process and how it can be complicated. Piper and her sister Hannah, who volunteers to go on this adventure with her, are in their deceased father's hometown. They meet long-lost families and learn about their father. And Brendon is a window of 7 years with a solid connection to his father-in-law, dealing with many buried emotions and guilt about moving on.

I also loved watching Piper change from the flighty rich kid to a young woman with self-confidence and a sense of responsibility.

If you like rom-coms, this is one you can easily get lost in. It's the perfect escape read.
