Mary Kubica has such a talent for drawing you right into her characters' lives, and that's what kept me hooked from start to finish! I really enjoyed how each character has their own level of complexity. It made me wonder who I could truly trust throughout the story. As the plot unfolded, the secrets each person held gradually came to light, and I found myself reassessing my opinions about them several times. It was such an engaging experience! What I loved most was seeing the relationships develop and discovering that people aren't always who they appear to be. Kubica does an amazing job of illustrating how fear, guilt, and past decisions shape who we are, and she really knows how to build tension! If you're a fan of character-driven psychological thrillers where you can piece things together alongside the narrator, this one is definitely a fun journey. |
