The Magnolia Palace

by Fiona Davis
Historical Fiction: Another dual timeline and fabulous book by Fiona Davis. One timeline takes us back to 1919 and the life of Lillian, a model for sculptors. She loses her mother to the Spanish flu and is a person of interest in the death of her landlord's wife. The second timeline occurs in 1966 when model Veronica Weber gets left behind after a photo shoot trapping her inside the Frick Museum. The Magnolia Palace by Fiona Davis. #historical fiction, #reading, #books to read, #books

Book Review

(by- Linda )

Yes, I loved this book because I live in NYC - but no, you will still love it if you don't. Here is a story about two models, Lillian, who modeled for sculptures in 1919, and Veronica, a 1966 photoshoot model.

The setting is the beautiful Frick Mansion on Fifth Avenue, NY, now known as the Frick Collection. Because I always pass them, I could visualize many of the fountains, buildings, and statues the author describes in this story.

Fiona Davis weaves these two storylines together perfectly, creating a captivating book with a hint of mystery and family drama. I also loved learning about the Frick family and their art collection. My takeaway? I can't wait to revisit the Frick Collection; it will have new meaning. Recommend
