PBR Review: (by- Andrea)
I listened to this beautiful coming-of-age story on audio and loved it! It's a story of friendship, love, and finding oneself. It begins with 7-year-old Sam living in an apartment in Massachusetts with her mother. She has an unstable home life, an unreliable father, and a mother struggling to make ends meet. Her journey into young adulthood is challenging, but Sam navigates the ups and downs of growing up and attempts to discover herself. Despite little help from others and sometimes interference from others, she persevers. Goodman does an exceptional job of creating realistic, relatable characters. Sam will pull at your heartstrings as she struggles to find her way. This inspiring story will stay with you long after you finish the book. |
