Book Review

(by- Linda )

I'm a big fan of Fiona Davis and love that New York City is the backdrop in many of her stories. My apartment is a ten-minute walk from the Met, so I was thrilled when I read the summary of this book and realized The Met was one of the stars.

This story is told in dual timelines and duel POVs.

One timeline follows a nineteen-year-old woman who travels to Eqypt and works on an Archaeological site in Egypt's Valley of the Kings. A dream come true for her. But, after events take a turn for the worst - she returns home, eventually becoming a curator in the Met's Egyptian Art Department. Here, she becomes obsessed with her research on a rare female pharaoh.

The other main character is Annie, who gets the opportunity of a lifetime, the chance to work for the famous fashion editor Diana Vreeland, who is in charge of the annual Met Gala.

Their lives intersect when, during the Met Gala, a priceless Egyptian artifact is stolen, and they work together to find it. As their journey progresses, they uncover many secrets and face many dangers. A captivating story with intrigue, mystery, and characters you can connect to.

An excellent book for fans of Fiona Davis and historical fiction lovers.
