Review

(by Andrea)

I loved this book! The audio version was phenomenal, with a full cast of characters that brought the book to life. I couldn't wait to get back to listening to it.

What's unique about this book is that it's told in epistolary (uh-pi-stuh-leh-ree)form, meaning the story is told through letter writing. It delivers excellent character development.

Sybil Van Antwerp is in her twilight years when the story begins. She lives alone and has been a letter writer her entire life. She writes in a formal tone reflecting her disciplined life and reserved personality.

But as the story unfolds, you see the cracks in her armor as her correspondence reveals her life story. This book is emotional and heartbreaking. It's about family, forgiveness, and letting go of past mistakes. Don't miss this book! Books like this don't come along often.
