The story centers on Detective Daniel Hawthorne as he investigates the brutal murder of a wealthy businessman. Hawthorne's unwavering dedication to finding the truth is forthright, endearing and keeps you fully invested in the story.
The story also has many unexpected turns, twists, and diversions that will keep you hooked till the end. Anthony Horowitz excels at this, as well as crafting compelling characters and beautifully atmospheric settings, which keep the story moving and the intrigue building.
