All She Left Behind
by Jane Kirkpatrick
PBR Review:
Whenever I read stories about women with incredible inner strength, it awakens something within me. I question why women must struggle so much in a manís world. To some extent, this is still true today. But, in Jennieís case, her challenges, which were substantial, were further hindered by the narrow-minded customs of the day.

The is a story set in 1870s Oregon, a period where so much of a womanís existence depended on her husband. This tale, based on a true story, follows the journey of Jennie, a women filled with passion and determination, as she struggles to achieve her formidable dream of becoming a doctor, in a time when society flatly rejected female doctors. The story is bittersweet, and her journey is complicated. A captivating, well written and well researched story.
