This Summer Will Be Different

by Carley Fortune
This Summer Will Be Different by Carley Fortune book cover romance novel set on Prince Edward Island
(by Andrea)

Carley Fortune knows how to deliver a romantic story you can get lost in, and she does it again with this one.

The story begins when Lucy arrives early at Prince Edward Island to visit her best friend Bridget at her family's home. Bridget is delayed, so Lucy takes her time and stops at a local eatery. There she meets an irresistible guy shucking oysters. The flirting begins, one thing leads to another, and she goes home with him. In the morning, she realizes he's Bridget's younger brother. But one of the rules from Bridget is, don't fall in love with my brother. The struggle begins.

This modern romance is engaging and fun, reminding you what it feels like to have undeniable chemistry with someone. I became invested in their relationship as they tried to figure it out in secret.

What I liked most was that the characters weren't perfect and their story didn't go in a straight line, which made it feel honest and relatable. Most importantly, it was also about true friendship and finding your circle of friends who feel like family, who care for each other in supportive ways.

Throw this one in your beach bag and get swept away to beautiful Prince Edward Island!
