Book Review

(by- Andrea )

If you enjoy the show The Great British Bake Off, you'll love this heartwarming story about second chances and making your mark in the world.

Jenny is a seventy-something-year-old woman who secretly applies to be a contestant in a televised baking competition, which begins this lighthearted and uplifting story.

I loved Jenny's loving relationship with her husband of 60 years. Their bond was beautifully portrayed, offering a glimpse into a long-term supportive relationship. Yet, even after decades of marriage, Jenny still holds a secret she has never shared.

What I most enjoyed was reading about Jenny's delicious baked goods. There were a few recipes at the end which I intend to try. I became totally immersed in this book and felt like I was watching the show. This debut novel is the perfect read when you need a little pick-me-up.
