The Sirens by Emilia Hart is told in multiple timelines, which I found intriguing. It's about three women, each living in a different timeline, all connected by an ancient, magical bond linked to the sea. The author seamlessly blends history, myth, different timelines, and modern life, immersing the reader in the stories without noticeable shifts in narrative. What I really loved was the relationship between Lucy and Jess; it's complicated, but in a way that's good. It's also not perfect, but that's okay; it adds poignancy and heart to the story, showcasing the power of female bonds. Hart also perfectly captures the push and pull of feminine connections. This book will appeal to anyone who loves character-driven stories about strong women. It's perfect for fans of Weyward or The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue-books that blend history, a touch of magic, and deep emotion. |
