There’s something endlessly fascinating about a good psychological thriller- the tension, the secrets, the sense that nothing is as it seems. If you like twisty plots, unreliable narrators, and stories that mess with your mind in the best way, you’re in the right place. Below are some thrillers that will keep you turning pages.
Count My Lies by Sophie Strava

If you enjoy a twisty thriller that keeps you guessing, where everyone seems to be hiding something, especially the main character, you’re in for a treat. This story combines elements of domestic drama with increasing suspense, which keeps you turning pages, wondering who you can trust. It’s the perfect choice for anyone seeking a fun, fast-paced escape.

House of Glass by Sarah Pekkanen
If you’re looking for an engaging book, check out “House of Glass” by Sarah Pekkanen. This story follows a wealthy family with many secrets. After a shocking event, a lawyer gets involved to try to find the truth, especially since a child becomes a key witness. At the same time, the family’s fancy home hides many secrets, making the story a great mystery. Try this one if you enjoy stories about family relationships (and drama) with suspenseful plots that challenge what you thought you knew.

Listen For The Lie by Amy Tintera
This was a fun and twisty thriller! I enjoyed the mix of true crime podcasts and mystery, and Lucy was such an entertaining character. I wasn’t sure what to believe for most of the book, which kept me turning the pages. The small-town drama, secrets, and dark humor made it an engaging read. I figured out part of the ending, but it was still satisfying and well done. If you like thrillers with a bit of edge and a podcast angle, this one’s worth picking up!

Darling Girls by Sally Hepworth
If you want a book with twists and a focus on relationships, you’ll enjoy Darling Girls. It tells the story of three women who grew up together in a foster home that was not the fairy tale everyone imagined. When something from their past haunts them, these women must unite and confront some big, painful secrets. This is an engaging book about sisterhood, strength, and how the past always catches up to you. It’s perfect if you like a mystery with heart and a hint of darkness.

The Perfect Divorce by Jeneva Rose
The Perfect Divorce is packed with drama, secrets, and turns you won’t see coming. This book dives into a messy separation that quickly becomes a high-stakes game with shocking reveals at every turn. If you enjoyed The Perfect Marriage or love a gripping thriller where you’re constantly trying to figure out who’s telling the truth, this one will keep you hooked from beginning to end.

A Killing Cold by Kate Alice Marshall
“A Killing Cold” by Kate Alice Marshall is a great pick if you want an engaging story. It takes place in the winter vacation home of a wealthy family. The main character, Theo, discovers that she has been to this place before, but she can’t remember why or when, and there is an underlying sense that everybody is harboring secrets, which builds the suspense. This story keeps you hooked until the end.

This is not my first book by this author, and she is quickly becoming a favorite. The Swimmer pulls you in right from the start with a shocking event. This story has a lot of suspense and great, well-developed characters. You want to keep reading because there is one question after the other, and because the characters resonate with you emotionally. This twisty psychological thriller is ideal for anyone who enjoys stories with surprising twists and turns.

“Ask for Andrea” is a fresh take on justice. It follows the spirits of three murder victims who team up in the afterlife to stop their murderer from striking again, a unique concept that grabbed my attention. The author also blends suspense with emotional pull – another plus.

Thrillers From My Backlist Shelf

Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris
Behind Closed Doors takes a look into the marriage of Jack and Grace. They appear to have the perfect marriage – Jack has a successful career, and Grace is happy running the house. However, as the story progresses, things are not as perfect as they seem – the suspense and tension build and keep building, making for an intense reading experience where you question everything.

The Woman In Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware
Imagine you’re aboard an elegant cruise ship and in the dead of night, you witness something alarming – a woman being thrown overboard – and when you investigate further, there is blood outside the adjacent Cabin 10. The unsettling part? You casually spoke to the woman in this cabin earlier – yet it’s empty now, no one seems to be missing, and suddenly, the other passengers cast uncertain glances in your direction. The Woman in Cabin 10 perfectly captures a sense of isolation and uncertainty. This book is a must-read if you enjoy a complex mystery, where trust becomes scarce.

What’s Up Next on My Reading List

Don’t Open Your Eyes by Liv Constantin
Liv Constantine writes psychological thrillers that mess with your head in the best way. I love her books, so I can’t wait to read this one. I was intrigued by this book’s premise – a woman waking up unsure of what happened to her. Also, I love domestic suspense with twists, shady characters, and narrators you can’t fully trust, and this one checks all the boxes.

The Dark Maestro by Brendan Slocumb
I am also excited to dive into The Dark Maestro by Brendan Slocumb. If you’ve been following along, you’ll know how much I loved his previous books, The Violin Conspiracy and Symphony of Secrets. His way of blending compelling thrillers with the world of classical music is captivating, so I have high hopes for this new one and can’t wait to see what kind of musical mystery he’s got in store for us this time.

The Missing Half by Ashley Flowers
I enjoyed All Good People Here by this author, so I look forward to reading The Missing Half. Ashley Flowers is excellent at blending true crime with compelling storytelling that keeps you hooked. If The Missing Half is anything like her last one, I’m sure it’ll be a gripping read full of twists and mystery.
