What To Do On A Girls Day Out? Lunch – Theatre – Laughter!

Sharing is caring!

Girls Day Out with Lunch and a Play!

Having a Girls Day Out is one of my favorite ways to recharge and reconnect with friends. It doesn’t have to be anything extravagant simply shopping, hiking or just sitting at the beach. Whatever is planned, spending time with friends is good for your soul.

One of my best friends invited me and my sister to have lunch and see a play with a group of her childhood friends. Surprisingly, I hadn’t met any of them before, but she was so welcoming I couldn’t say no. We had such a good time! It turned out to be a wonderful day filled with great company, conversation, and the weather was beautiful.

The Theatre

Millburn is the home to the Paper Mill Playhouse, a local theatre that draws an impressive lineup of actors and plays. We saw Benny & June which is based on the movie starring Johnny Depp and Mary Stuart Masterson. Many of the actors in the play had performed on Broadway and were super talented.

The Meet Up!

To begin with, we all met at the Hills Tavern for a delicious lunch and then walked to the theatre. If you ever get the chance to visit Millburn, NJ it has a charming downtown area, with cute little shops and excellent dining. Plus there’s a theatre and train station within walking distance of the town.

Oh, What a Day!

Above all, I was so thankful to be included in such a lovely well planned day. Given the amount of people, I’m sure it wasn’t easy organizing the lunch and collecting all the money, but it was truly appreciated and perfectly executed! Our ticket included delicious appetizers, lunch and two drinks at The Hills Tavern, which is right on Main Street and walking distance to the theatre. As soon as we arrived we started eating, drinking and laughing together and then headed to the theatre.

Local theatre is a great way to support the arts in small towns and to spend quality time with friends. What are some of the activities you do when out on a girls day?
