Book Review

(by- Linda )

The story is clever and suspenseful. Three people each receive a package with a personal gift, which all tie back to a woman named Alexis Turner, who disappeared after reporting an assault to police. Detective Sergeant Judith Lee is trying to understand what happened, and it's her journey that adds depth to the story.

I really liked the relationships, which were complex and real, especially the relationship between Judith and her mother; it's difficult, but very realistic. The chemistry between Judith and her partner is also incredible and again believable. The plot keeps you guessing, and it also makes you think about whether revenge actually solves anything.

The book is a well-written mystery with great pacing, making it easy to read "just one more chapter". If you like smart mysteries that focus on characters and have emotional depth, you should definitely check this out.
