Book Review

(by- Linda )

I think what I liked most about this book was that it wasn't just about Nina's disappearance; it was about complex people - the author did an amazing job making them feel real - as you read, you can feel the panic, the defensiveness, and the denial.

Nina's parents are heartbroken and relentless, while Simon's parents are protective in a way that feels both understandable and unsettling. It's one of those books where you keep shifting your sympathy as more layers are revealed.

What I really appreciated was the characters' authenticity. No one is purely good or purely bad; they are all just human beings-scared, loyal, and flawed-trying to protect the people they love. It made me reflect on how well we truly understand our children... or anyone, for that matter.

If you're a fan of psychological suspense that's rooted in complex family dynamics rather than relentless action, this book is definitely worth a read.

This is my first read by this author, and I loved it.
